For your prime viewing pleasure is this vintage WFL 6.5x14 No. 470 Contest Model snare drum. It's all original down to the wires with exception of modern heads. It features the brass 1948-1952 WFL keystone badge while the original double flanged nickel over brass hoops date this to 1948 before they switched to triple flanged hoops in '49. The top hoop has one slight bend along the flat edge and the bottom hoop has two that can be felt more than seen. These are merely cosmetic in nature do not affect the structural integrity of the hoop or the tuning in any way. The mahogany finish is deep, warm, and clean with just a few minor dings and scratches as shown, and it displays majestically. The lugs are exceptionally clean as is the early WFL P-83 strainer which functions smoothly. There are no extra holes or modifications. Most importantly, this drum tunes up easily and is joy to play. This would make a lovely addition to any collection or studio. Enjoy!
