For your viewing pleasure is this historic 1920's Ludwig & Ludwig snare drum. This is a 10 lug model, in 6.5"x15", featuring their Professional strainer & butt. It is made with a wonderful single ply solid mahogany shell. This drum has an extra hole beneath the strainer & next to the butt plate from where a different one was installed at one time. There are two notches in the bottom rim, as well as two small holes in the top rim that may not be original. Four or five of the tension rods/clips appear to possibly be era correct replacements. This drum tunes up great & has an excellent warm, woody crack that can only be realized with a nearly 100 year old solid shell drum. Enjoy!
