For your viewing pleasure is this excellent example of a Ludwig Pioneer 5x14 snare drum in the very debonair black and gold duco finish. This three ply white interior drum has an internal date stamp of SEP 1 1965. It's in well cared for condition and features a nice keystone badge (serial # 183XXX), original P-83 strainer and butt, baseball bat muffler, and beautiful bow-tie lugs. All tension rods and washers are original. The nickel plating is in great condition with just a few specs of oxidation here and there on the top hoop, strainer, and butt. The hoops are both original, the top is steel and the bottom is brass which was common for them to be mixed during this period. As is typically seen with these vintage duco finishes, there's a little paint loss at the top and bottom of the lugs, but overall the finish presents beautifully. There are no extra holes or modifications, and it has new Remo Ambassador heads that have seen almost no use. This drum would be equally at home amongst collections, studios, or stages. It tunes up like a champ and sounds fantastic! Enjoy!
