For your viewing pleasure is this vintage Slingerland 5.5x14 Super Gene Krupa Radio King snare drum. The unique, short lived dog tag style badge dates this drum to the mid 1950s. The stunning red sparkle glass glitter would make Dorothy's ruby slippers jealous. Aside from the heads, this beauty is all original down to the brass stick saver hoops, muffler, lugs, tension rods, clamshell strainer, and wires. The wires sound good when they are turned on, but when they are thrown off they go out of shape a bit. So if you will be playing the drum with the wires off you would want to replace them. The solid single ply shell is in-round and fits modern heads nicely. There is a small amount of factory wood filler at the re-rings, see pics for details. Most importantly, this drum tunes up like a champ and sounds amazing. Enjoy!
