Vintage Shure Unidyne III SM56 Cardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone #1

For your kind consideration is this vintage Shure Unidyne III SM56 cardioid dynamic microphone. It's been tested and fully function. Has some cosmetic wear and tape residue and is missing one of the screws to the impedance switch cover. This mic is currently set to "L" for low impedance. The black Unidyne III ring dates this as late 1970s to very early 1980s. These are effectively the same as the venerable SM57 but have is an integrated stand mount that permits tilling of microphone through 135 degrees as well as selectable impedance for matching it to your preamp. Shure advertised the SM56 saying it featured an unusually effective cardioid pickup pattern that is uniform at all frequencies and in all planes. The effects of studio acoustics and background noisy are minimized and the bright, clean sound is ideal for announcing, dialogue and vocal music. Unusually effective for rhythm pickups because they do not overemphasize low frequencies - resulting in clean, beautifully defined sound from percussion instruments, piano and string basses. In addition, "boominess" associated with close-up pickup is well controlled, The cartridges are shock-mounted for quiet operation. Enjoy!
