For your viewing pleasure is this 1970’s 5.5x14 Slingerland Hollywood Ace snare drum. The white marine pearl wrap is extremely clean and in beautiful condition with no issues. The shell is 3 ply with true and original bearing edges and gorgeous highly figured natural flame maple interior. The beautiful 3-D flame is very present, but did not come out in the photographs. As is seen on most of the 60's and 70's Slingerland shells, there is some factory wood putty visible at the edges. The original strainer looks great and functions smoothly, as does the muffler. Four of the tension rods do not match the others. The lugs and original stick-saver hoops all have great chrome, although the bottom hoop has some marks and some micro pin-point pitting. Most importantly, this drum tunes up like a champ and sounds great. Enjoy!
