For your extreme viewing pleasure is this beautiful 1960s Camco Oaklawn 5x14 snare drum in original sky blue pearl.  This drum is special in that it was built in the early 1960s with the 1st Camco badge reading "Oaklawn Illinois".  These "pre USA" badge drums were built with Camco's legendary 4 ply Jasper shells, which later became 6 ply shells after they added "USA" to the badge.  These 4 ply shells are considered by many to be the pinnacle of Camco's quintessential and legendary sound.  This drum had a different strainer and butt installed on it before it came to us, which used a total of 5 extra holes.  The holes have been masterfully filled with maple dowels, and the dowels were then capped on the outside with matching vintage sky blue pearl wrap (see pics), and it looks excellent.  The strainer and butt are correct reproduction Dunnet / George Way / Camco beer tap style strainer and butt using the original factory holes.  The hoops , tension rods, and wires are replacements (there is some light oxidation on the hoops).  The wrap is in excellent condition with no splits, scratches, or scuffs.  The heads are Remo ambassadors with plenty of life left.  Most importantly, this drum tunes up easily and sounds amazing!  Enjoy!
