Vox VBM1 Brian May Special Recording Amp 10-Watt Guitar Combo Amplifier

For your prime viewing pleasure is this Vox VBM1 Brian May Special recording amp from the mid 2000s. It's in minty clean well cared for condition, has seen almost no play-time, and sounds wonderful. The VBM1 is a 10 watt combo with a 6.5" speaker that sounds identical to Brian’s homemade “Deacy System” and also offers the following additional features that dramatically enhance its flexibility. A Booster Output allows you to use the Booster section of the Deacy to drive another amp just like Brian did with his homemade device. It has controls for gain, tone, and volume as well as a high/low gain switch, an emulated recording/headphone jack, and a separate external speaker jack. Fans of Queen recognize the unmistakable guitar tones of Brian May. His smoothly overdriven, almost violin like guitar solos can be heard in such songs as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "You're My Best Friend."

His signature guitar tone was largely developed by passing his guitar signal first through a treble booster, then through the input of a hand made low wattage "Deacy" tube amplifier made for Brian by Queen bassist John Deacon. The output of the "Deacy" amp then feeds an array of up to twelve non top boosted Vox AC-30 amplifiers.

Vox introduced the VBM-1 Brian May Special amplifier in 2003. Vox wanted to build a package that would combine both the treble booster and the sound of the "Deacy" amp circuit. Brian May allowed Vox engineers access to the "Deacy" amp so they could develop the circuits necessary to accurately reproduce these unmistakable tones.

The amp featured a unique white vinyl covering and a "Brian May" logo on the grill.

The amp was discontinued by Vox in 2005.
