This is an incredibly cool 1940's 14"X 27" Walberg and Auge bass drum with rare clamp on rail mount. The rail mount has clips to mount a tom on each side. You can also clip cymbal arms and accessories on the rail. The white marine pearl wrap is in beautiful condition with no splits, scrapes, or scratches. The wrap seam is flat and tight. It has two beautiful calf heads, front and back (the batter side head has a small surface split that does not go through the head, it sounds and looks great and is very useable). Like most W&A drums, it has other brands hardware on it. This bass has Gretsch rocket lugs. It also features a factory painted black interior, with four reinforcement hoops (two at the outside edges, and two in the center). The edges are true and original, and it tunes up easily and sounds wonderful. Another cool feature is the tone control muffler that can variably muffle the head on one side by turning the dial on the top of the drum. The magnificent dual inlay hoops and original silver paint look stunning. This drum is miraculously 100% original in every way after all of these years, which is a testament to how well it was cared for. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. Walberg and Auge supplied much of the hardware for major drum companies at different times, such as Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretsch, Leedy, Camco, and many others. Enjoy
